What to Expect on Your Morocco 8 Day Tour ?
This Morocco 8 day tour takes you from the blue streets of Chefchaouen to the imperial medina of Fes and into the golden Sahara Desert for camel treks and luxury camp nights.
DAY 1: MARRAKECH MENARA AIRPORT / CASABLANCA AIRPORT
- Arrival at Marrakech airport. Welcome by our French-speaking driver and departure to your hotel/riad in Marrakech. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2: GUIDED TOUR OF MARRAKECH
- Breakfast and departure for a guided tour of the Majorelle Garden. It is one of the most beautiful gardens in Marrakech; it includes over 300 plant species from five continents, colorful with its magical contrast between Majorelle blue, yellow, and its botanical artwork. Then, discovery of the ramparts of Marrakech which formed a wall to protect the city. The 19th-century Bahia Palace reveals the love of a great vizier for his favorite. Lunch in the medina then continuation for a historic guided walking tour in the heart of the Marrakech medina (UNESCO World Heritage site). Its souks are full of enchanting scents and bright colors. Then, visit the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Quranic school reflecting Saadian architecture. Finally, discovery of Jemaa El-Fna square, the most vibrant district of Marrakech and the social heart of the medina with its snake charmers, acrobats, musicians, and water sellers; it is among the most famous squares in the world. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: MARRAKECH / AIT BEN HADDOU / OUARZAZATE / DADES VALLEY / DADES
- Breakfast and departure to Dades via the High Atlas Mountains to the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at 2260m altitude, considered the highest road pass in the country. Lunch, then departure for an interesting visit to the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which presents itself as a group of earthen buildings surrounded by walls, a traditional pre-Saharan habitat type. Some of its dwellings resemble small castles with their high towers. The oldest constructions date back to the 12th century. Then, continuation for a panoramic tour of Ouarzazate with a photo stop in front of the Kasbah Taourirt, then direction to the city of Dades for an incursion into the Dades Valley. You will discover surprising rock formations, such as "monkey fingers," and a variation of color with remarkable natural landscapes. Before returning to the city, a stop is planned at the magnificent panoramic view of a part of the Dades Gorges, Tissadrine. Finally, return to the city of Dades. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4: DADES / TODRA GORGES / TINJDAD / ERFOUD / MERZOUGA / LUXURY CAMP
- Breakfast and departure to the Todra Gorges via the town of Tinghir for a walk to discover these magnificent gorges, high limestone cliffs carved by the Todra river over millennia, reaching up to 300m in height; it is a natural jewel of southern Morocco. Lunch in Tinjdad and continuation to Erfoud, the gateway to the desert, where you can contemplate immense golden dunes until our arrival at the hotel in Merzouga. Then, a camel trek through the dunes to admire a magnificent sunset, a break on the dunes, and a return by camel to the luxury camp. A dinner in a luxury Bivouac and a typically animated evening in the desert atmosphere are planned for an extraordinary and memorable moment in the heart of the desert. JOUR 5 : MERZOUGA / ERFOUD/ VALLEE ZIZ/ MIDELT/ IFRANE/ FES
- Le matin, après avoir profité du lever du soleil dans le désert du Sahara, déjeuner. Continuation vers Fès la plus ancienne ville du Maroc via Errachidia via la ville d’Erfoud, vallée et Gorges du Ziz. En chemin, plusieurs arrêts sont prévus pour la découverte de nombreuses vues panoramiques de la région. Continuation vers Midelt à travers le col de Tizi N'talghamt, puis une pause dîner. Ensuite, direction vers la ville de Fès via la forêt de cèdres avec une pause pour observer les singes de Barbarie. Pour finir, un arrêt à Ifrane, la ville suisse du Maroc, avant d'atteindre Fès. Souper et hébergement.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA / ERFOUD / ZIZ VALLEY / MIDELT / IFRANE / FES
- In the morning, after enjoying the sunrise in the Sahara Desert, breakfast. Continuation towards Fes, the oldest city in Morocco, via Errachidia, the town of Erfoud, and the Ziz Valley and Gorges. Along the way, several stops are planned to discover numerous panoramic views of the region. Continuation towards Midelt through the Tizi N'talghamt pass, then a lunch break. Next, head towards the city of Fes via the cedar forest with a break to observe the Barbary apes. Finally, a stop in Ifrane, the "Little Switzerland" of Morocco, before reaching Fes. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 6: GUIDED TOUR OF FES / CHEFCHAOUEN
- Breakfast and departure to discover Fes. Guided historical tour of the medina. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is the largest pedestrian medina (old city) in the world. Fes El Bali is the oldest district of Fes, founded between 789 and 808 by the Idrisids. Discovery of the famous blue gate of Bab Boujloud, various activity sectors, and local markets where you will see artisans and traders. Visit the spectacular Chouara Tanneries: they have been established since the Middle Ages in one of the most impressive medinas. Pass through Nejjarine Square and its fountain decorated with zellige, topped by a carved cedar canopy. Discovery of the Al Attarine Madrasa, built in 1323 by the Marinid Sultan Abu Said, whose decor is of extreme architectural finesse, authentic to Eastern civilization. You will also have an exterior view of the ancient Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University; it is one of many sites in Fes El Bali and certainly the most beautiful. Continue your journey through the Rif Mountains until the discovery of the blue city, Chefchaouen. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 7: CHEFCHAOUEN / CASABLANCA
- Breakfast and free time to discover the medina of Chefchaouen, with its beautiful blue-adorned streets. Continuation to Casablanca with a stop for lunch planned along the way. Between Chefchaouen and Casablanca, one of the important stops of this circuit is the Hassan II Mosque. Your official private guide will tell you its most interesting stories, as this mosque is the third largest in the world. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 8: CASABLANCA / MOHAMMED V AIRPORT OR MARRAKECH AIRPORT
- Breakfast and departure for the airport according to your flight plan. END OF OUR SERVICES.
