DAY 1: FES – IFRANE – CEDAR FOREST – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA – LUXURY CAMP
Begin your unique journey with a wonderful adventure discovering memorable landscapes. Today, we leave Fes for an astonishing destination: the Sahara Desert. The journey begins with the town of Ifrane, nicknamed the “Little Moroccan Switzerland,” crossing a picturesque cedar forest in the heart of the Middle Atlas. You will likely have the opportunity to encounter Barbary macaque monkeys there. This drive is also an opportunity to learn more about the millennia-old traditions of the local Berbers. After the lunch scheduled in Midelt, we will continue through the spectacular Ziz Valley and its gorges, where you can admire vast palm groves and the length of the oasis. We will finally arrive in Erfoud, the gateway to the desert, before reaching the golden dunes of Merzouga. There, you will experience the adventure of crossing Erg Chebbi on camelback to enjoy a magnificent sunset. Upon arrival at the luxury camp, you will spend the evening to the rhythm of drums, under the stars, in the heart of the Sahara. The overnight stay in a luxury tent includes dinner and breakfast the following morning.
DAY 2: MERZOUGA – TINJDAD – TODRA GORGES – DADES
After admiring the sunrise and having breakfast, departure toward the Dades Valley via Tinjdad. The road continues to Tinghir for a walking tour to discover the Todra Gorges. These magnificent limestone cliffs, carved by the Todra River over millennia, can reach 300 meters in height. After lunch, continuation toward the Dades Valley passing through the large palm grove of Tinghir. You will take a beautiful road to discover surprising rock formations, such as the “monkey fingers.” You will admire the variations of colors in the natural landscapes and make a stop to enjoy the panoramic view over the Dades Gorges (Tissadrine), nicknamed the “serpent road.” Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 3: DADES – ROSES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE – AÏT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH
Breakfast and departure toward Marrakech, crossing the Roses Valley via Skoura and Ouarzazate. A photo stop is scheduled in front of the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate, a city nicknamed the “Moroccan Hollywood.” The journey continues to the famous Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou. After lunch, you will visit this UNESCO World Heritage site. This complex of earthen buildings, a type of traditional pre-Saharan habitat, impresses with its high towers resembling small castles. The oldest constructions date back to the 12th century. Finally, you will take the road to Marrakech crossing the Ounila Valley and its magnificent villages built of rammed earth. You will cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, located at 2,260 meters above sea level, offering exceptional panoramas over the High Atlas. Arrival in Marrakech and drop-off at your accommodation.
